Pregnancy is an exciting and tiring time in your life! Afterall, you are growing a human being (or more) for 9 months. It is important to document your belly and maternity time period so that you can look back for years to come.
When to book?
It is recommended that your maternity photoshoot takes place between weeks 28 - 34 of pregnancy. Therefore, it is best to reach out to me during your first or early 2nd trimester to schedule. This will ensure that your preferred date and time is available.
What to wear?
A client closet is available for use should you choose. Gallery of gowns will be available once session is booked. If you want to bring your own clothing, they should allow to show off your baby belly bump. I recommend Maxi Dresses: they are incredibly comfortable and look amazing on any pregnant body. We can style maxi dresses to cover up anything you don’t want shown or they can be pulled against the belly to show off your adorable baby bump. Wear solid colors for your bump to stand out the most since that is the focus of the session. Keep accessories to a minimum: Photos should be focused on you and your bump so either keep jewelry and accessories simple or use them to accentuate your bump.
Shoes: I recommend wearing stylish but comfortable shoes (something low profile). Most of the maternity dresses reach the ground and your shoes will be covered. Shoes are not an option in studio. Spouse/Partner/Child(ren): make sure to coordinate their outfits to yours should they be in the photos with you.
Makeup & hair: get your hair and makeup done for this special occasion. It can be done at home by you or professional stylist.
What to expect during the session?
Maternity sessions usually last 1-2h. We will work with poses that are both comfortable and natural for you. The session will allow for breaks to have outfit(s) and/or background changes if applicable. You are welcome to include spouse/partner/child(ren) within your session, or have it simply revolve around just you for once.
