September is not just a month for changing leaves and cooler weather; it's also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and support for children and families battling pediatric cancer. At Hobby for Hope Photography, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of these courageous families. Annually in September, we GO GOLD for awareness by offering special Fall Family Sessions for families with pediatric cancer diagnoses. Why Childhood Cancer Awareness Matters Childhood Cancer Awareness Month holds a special place in our hearts. It's a time when we can all come together to acknowledge the unique challenges faced by children and families affected by pediatric cancer. These young warriors show incredible strength and resilience in the face of adversity. Yet, they also deserve our unwavering support and attention, especially when it comes to funding for research and treatment. Did you know that childhood cancer receives only about 4% of annual funding from all the fundraising efforts for cancer research? These brave young fighters deserve more. They deserve better treatments, more funding, and ultimately, a brighter future. By increasing awareness, we can help drive more funding for research that will improve the lives of these children and their families. Going Gold for Awareness The gold ribbon is the symbol of childhood cancer awareness, and during September, we proudly embrace it. It's a symbol of hope, strength, and unity in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Fall Mini Sessions for Families with Pediatric Cancer Diagnoses It is our goal to offer exclusive Fall Mini Sessions for families with a child facing a cancer diagnosis annually. These sessions were designed to capture the essence of the season while creating timeless memories for these courageous families. Our goal was to provide them with beautiful images they can treasure forever. The Power of Photography in Capturing Special Moments Photography has a unique way of freezing moments in time, preserving the love, laughter, and strength of families. For families dealing with pediatric cancer, these moments become even more precious. Our Fall Mini Sessions aimed to capture the joy and resilience of these families as they came together during this challenging time. (Below are images from families in 2022)
The Impact of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month By offering these special sessions and promoting childhood cancer awareness, we hope to inspire others to get involved and contribute to the cause. Every dollar raised, every moment captured, and every conversation about pediatric cancer helps make a difference. How You Can Help You can make a difference too! Hobby for Hope Photography will be attending Cal's Angel's annual Glow Walk on September 23rd, 2023. We have a team page and would love for you to help us reach our goal.
